Will SMP blend with my existing hair? +
In most cases, yes. We carefully match pigment to your existing hair color and density. Note that blond and gray hair follicles cannot be precisely replicated with ink, so a consultation helps determine the best approach for your specific situation.
Is this a tattoo? +
Similar but not the same. A standard tattoo uses a 1–2 millimeter needle and goes deeper into the skin. SMP uses a 1 millimeter needle to deposit specially-formulated ink on the dermis layer of your scalp.
Is SMP permanent? +
Yes — which is exactly why it's vital to choose a skilled, licensed technician. Do your research and choose a studio that can show you their work.
Will the pigment fade or change color? +
Our specially formulated SMP ink does not turn blue or green like traditional tattoo ink. Some clients see fading after 10–12 years; others see no fading at all. Every skin type retains pigment differently — touch-ups are sometimes needed.
Is the procedure painful? +
In most cases, no. Some clients feel minimal discomfort. Over-the-counter pain medication is available if needed.
How will I look immediately after? +
Expect some redness for 2–10 hours after treatment, depending on your skin type. The redness fades quickly and your final look develops over the following days.
How long does the procedure take? +
